The standards that are in our minds

What are they… Success is about money? Success comes from property? Success comes from business? Success comes from fame? Success comes from power?

These are the standards The richer you are, the more successful you are, The more famous the more successful, The more popular the more successful, The one who becomes a leader – succeeded, Whoever accumulated big business… is Successful! Who made a lot of money – successful This is actually a delusion.

You will strive according to your concept of success

That is what the struggle will be for

All your efforts will be for that

You will work hard day in and day out for for it.

This is what is being put down here.

Success is not about wealth

Success is not about fame

Success

Power

And not by power and leadership

Rather, success comes from faith

By righteous deeds

Advising each other for truth

Advising each other for patience

Please understand and focus

On this Attitude –

The mental attitude

Only its change will bring about a revolution in the human personality

Now what is the result you get?

If you had success with wealth, ‘Qaron’ would have been very successful

If success was through leadership,
Pharaoh and Nimrod would have been very successful

Success is not because of these

in wealth if a man reaches the wealth of ‘Qaroon’

And take the place of Nimrod and Pharaoh in the world in terms of dominion and power and kingdom and leadership

He has failed, he has lost, he has lost, he has lost

And

Abu Zar Ghaffari رضي الله عنه is successful

Even if they had nothing

Not even a hut

Had no house

The Holy Prophet has said:

Some of Allah’s servants are like that

Those who want to go to a gathering, they are not allowed to do so

If someone wants to marry, then no one is willing to accept their proposal.

If they put a request somewhere then no one listens to them

But they have that position with Allah

That even if they take a oath on something by mistake

Allah accommodates their oath

This is the difference

Please understand…

It’s easy to accept this

It is easy to say Subhan Allah on this

But change your mind accordingly…

it is very difficult

because we are..

affected by our environment

There is a big palace

Once you see it, you get inspired

A big twenty feet long car

when it passes by you

it astonishes your atleast once.

It seems that these are the lucky ones

Very lucky

Very successful

But who knows

That is the greatest misfortune

This may be the biggest failure

If it gets stuck in the mind what the success is about

That is why the its in the Qur’an again and again.

These are the people who will succeed

Today you heard those verses in prayer

O you who believe! Bow down and prostrate

Worship and serve your Lord

And do good deeds so that you may prosper

So what things make you successful

This is the greatest lesson

If we understand this properly

Gets stamped

Then life will change

Morning and evening will change.
Lifestyle will change.

The direction of your efforts will change.

The value structure will change

The one thing that may seem very important today..

Tomorrow will look very insignificant

As is the hadith of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ)

What do I care about this world of yours?

My example is like that of a rider

Which stays in the shade of a tree for a while to relax

and then he moves on.

he has no permanent connection to the tree

That is not his home nor his destination.

Similarly, this world is not my home

Now, we say,

(Surat al-Baqara, 156)

We are just travelers

We have come from Allah and we have to return to Allah

The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) says:

Live in this world like you’re either a stranger or a passerby.

But when will this change happen?

Until and unless this ayat is embedded in our minds.

This is the real thing

That i said I’d mention as to why the sahabah would remind each other.

This is because, see

If it is snowing and you go out, the snow accumulates on your clothes.

So you shake the clothes to get the snow off

On our faith while living in this world

When we are affected by the environment

the dust accumulates on it

its covered with snow

It needs to be kept shaking

And the best way to shake

And the most effective one is remember..

Success does not come from these things

The radiance of the world

All the sparkle that is shining on you

Which is indulging you into it

This word reminded me of Iqbal’s verse.

That the identity of the infidel is that he is lost in the universe
And the universe is lost in the believer.

Don’t get lost in it

Don’t be fooled

Don’t be intimidated

Let not the love of the world take you over.

Does not impose on your hearts

So keep reminding yourself

Be Reminded

Refresh it

This belief of yours

Success is not about wealth

Success does not come with wealth

Success is not about power

Success is not about fame

Success is not about property

  1. Success is by faith,
