Being a human being, it is natural at times to feel low on emaan as we are constantly in a fight with our enemy, shaitan. He wants us to think low of ourselves as it is the keyhole for him to enter into our hearts from where the corruption of our souls begins.
In this article, we will discuss the signs of low emaan as well as the supplications to strengthen and increase your emaan and love for Allah as advised by our Prophet Hazrat Muhammad SAW.
Signs of Low Emaan:
Mentioned below are a few of the signs of weak emaan. As soon as you notice any of the following signs, it is a call to restore and strengthen your emaan.
- Feelings of sorrow, distress, restlessness, and anxiety.
- Lack of motivation to pray with kushoo and khuzoo.
- Repetition of sin again and again without feeling any guilt or remorse.
- Stoned heart with no desire to read and understand Quran.
- The feeling of detachment from the verses of the Quran.
Increase your Emaan by Remembering Allah SWT:
Emaan resides in our hearts and always yearn for the remembrance of the love of Allah SWT. Lack of emaan leaves a person tired and restless and is therefore required to reconnect with our creator, Allah SWT.
Allah has also mentioned in the Quran:
“Surely in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find comfort.”
Reference: Surah Ar-Ra’d Verse 28
To keep our emaan firm all the time, we need to keep our hearts and tongue nourished with the remembrance of Allah SWT. Our beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad SAW used to remember Allah all the time, in the moment of happiness, sorrow, and also in the moment of distress. He also advised us to follow the same path to stay happy, content, and peaceful all the time.
Remembrance of Allah also protects one from the darkness of this world and akhirah. The one who glorifies Allah day and night by making constant dhikr in whatever time he finds is more beloved to Allah almighty than rest of the slaves.
As mentioned in another verse in the Quran:
O believers! Always remember Allah often, and glorify Him morning and evening. He is the One Who showers His blessings upon you—and His angels pray for you—so that He may bring you out of darkness and into the light. For He is ever Merciful to the believers.
